Haters

Wow, the haters are out in full force tonight! I kept getting one person asking me what the message was behind kids so that they could film a correct clip for the video. I bothered to reply to this person, even though they have a pair of fucking ears so it's quite obvious, and I guess just wanted to ahve a reason to have a go at me. Please see below..

Don't you think that the reason children cause so much trouble is that they have too much to do? How many more leisure centres, youth centres, clubs, and money do we have available to us now compared even to fifty years ago? Probably twice--if not, three times--as many. How much more opportunity is there for young people to invest themselves in the Arts? ...How many more theatres, how much more accessible music technology, how many more helplines? We're like toddlers in a boundless field, with everything to do and, because we haven't earnt it or experienced anything other than it, we can't appreciate it. We've never been cold so we can't feel the warmth that surrounds us; we've never been poor so we can't enjoy the wealth that we've been brought up with.

By forever complaining and blaming other people--such as the government, whom we have the power to reelect and who is perpetually at our mercy--you're just resigning yourself to a life of indolence, throughout which you will never have the courage to take responsibility for your own problems.

Get off your arse and stop pretending to yourself that by spending any more money on young people all of our society's problems will miraculously vanish. Rather than trying to change the world, people ought to try changing the one thing they have the most influence over: themselves.

To be honest I read the first 2 lines and gave up as this person obviously has something they want to get off their chest, and I am their target.

Am I wrong for just making a point about something I believe in?
